Yes, we use FDA EUA testing assays that have been validated for all major variants, including Omicron, Delta and more.

We us Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) testing, often considered the gold standard in identifying unique RNA or DNA targets. PCR is basically a “molecular photocopier”, when a target is present in a given sample, the target is amplified by making numerous copies. In the case of COVID-19, we select two targets unique to the viral RNA, but common to all major variants. At the end of the assay, the presence is detected using relative fluorescence at specific wavelengths. As such, PCR is both highly sensitive, and highly selective minimizing false results, both positive and negative.

The Endogenous Control (EC) is a DNA target common to all human DNA. If you see this on a COVID-19 result and it says “Positive” or “Normal”;congratulations, you’re a human! We use an EC as a quality control to ensure the extraction and reaction were successful, and that the sample elute contained sufficient patient molecular information to be detectable. It absolutely does not correlate to the presences or absence of the COVID-19 target in the sample.
